For the first time when Seiko Velatura collection appears on the market, was in the year of 2007 and it was dedicated to the professional sailors that required an extraordinary model but also powerful enough to measure all of their needs, from time keeping to measuring instruments but in the same time reliable and economical.

    In the year of 2009 the collection embraces five new models but the most remarkable of them is the Seiko Velatura Yachting Timer. This watch is meant to be the most perfect watch for sailors but also a powerful water proof piece. The most problem that appears on sport watches is that near the bezel the closure can not be made perfectly because the bezel must move left or right or can be pulled up. Seiko came with the revolutionary system that the bezel must be screwed inside the case and the bezel now transforms into a piece that is attached to the watch just like the assembly of a car. The actually using of the crown is taking place thanks to the unique mechanism that can be fount in this tiny device.

    For the case of the watch engineers have developed an innovating strap that it was possible by combining elements like leather and ballistic nylon to provide more resistance to water but in the same time, more strength. The case of the watch is made from titanium and with the previous avoid beneath it that is given also more elasticity to the case making it more resistant to shock. The new Seiko Velatura Yachting Timer can go under water to up to a maximum of 200 meters and that is proven also by the warranty that Seiko offers.

Somehow the Seiko engineers have managed to put under a case of 45 millimeters, some gear that can do stuff like a professional sailing instruments.

    Inside the Seiko Velatura Yachting Timer we can find the Caliber 7T84 a not so expensive engine, and the price for the watch can be estimated for about 950 euros because of the gears that can be found on it.

    The same watch the Seiko Velatura Yachting Timer is going to be build for women. The women series will be made entirely from stainless steel with the whole case and belt made from one single piece.

    For the women model of the Seiko Velatura Yachting Timer some sailing equipment has been removed and also some of the technical indicators have been removed. But with all of this the model is made with some extremely elegance but in the same time with a sport air. The strong element of the Seiko Velatura Yachting Timer for women is the colors and the entire exterior aspect. The designers came up with the idée of a white dial and the color for the indicator transmuted from a blue sea.

    The watch is water proof from 100 meters and it is powered by the caliber 7T90 that makes the watch a very cheap one when it cams to money because the model will cost only 590 euros.
