Breguet Fusee Tourbillon

Posted under Breguet

Breguet, far from being just an icon of European watch-making craftsmanship and prestige, also stands for cultural-bound timepieces which break the boundaries and become genuine objects of art. This brand, renown for being the personal watchmaker of Queen Marie Antoinette retains since 1775 a very special place among the fine watch-making producers worldwide as the brand which constantly raises the standards by which all the other brands are judged.

If others have to dig deep in their past in order to write about their history, Breguet has always created, throughout the years, some of the most important horologic treasures in history, thus earning an impressive pedigree, the envy of the entire watch-making branch.

Remaining fateful to the historical principles that throughout centuries have validated Breguet as the pinnacle of Haute Horology, this brand gracefully manages to preserve its never-fading cultural heritage and to create fascinating timepieces rooted in the past but always sophisticated and fashionable.

Presented at Baselworld 2009, La Tradition Breguet Fusee Tourbillon Watch was the ravishing, mind-numbing showstopper of the exhibition. Although the model was first introduced in 2007, it is defiantly a rarity, another Breguet state of art statement, irrefutable proof of a long tradition of refinement and ingenuity.

Carrying on the Breguet legacy, La Tradition Breguet Fusee Tourbillon Watch was inspired by the 2 original pocket watches designed by the legendary Abraham Louis Breguet himself, the tourbillon escapement was specially constructed to preserve the original Breguet features, and this timepiece retains the ancient fusee and chain technology – an unequaled solution which insures the constancy of the torque which flows towards the mechanism.

The manual-winding caliber 569, Breguet movement is displayed through a generous window which surrounds the small hour dial, positioned at 7 o’clock and manufactured from silver gold, dark blue seconds and hour hands point towards the roman numerals hour markers. The robust case is made of 18 karat yellow gold, just as the crown and matches a classy brown crocodile leather strap to complete a perfect stylish and sophisticated timepiece, and if it is a collectable item, pure awe-inspiring aesthetical perfection, only few have the privilege of wearing it on their wrist, only the few who can afford to pay $158,550.00.
