Intensely dedicated to perfection, BRM is a famous brand of watches that creates timepieces for its selective and elitist customers, who are becoming more and more numerous, helping the brand to gain its international notoriety.

Established in Paris, France, the BRM brand has a modest expertise in the watch manufacturing of only 25 years, but just as Bernard Richards, the man behind this brand , once stated, it is quality and not quantity that matters and also that the manufacturing tradition can’t determine the quality of a timepiece. The fast growing company has turned out to be a fair competitor to big names in this industry and the fact that the company is against mass production, only states more its commitment to creating genuine and innovative timepieces to please its pretentious clientele.

The new timepiece introduced on the market by BRM belongs to the V12 Collection and goes by the name of V12-44, a sporty watch dedicated to races and cars. Following the same design line, most of the watches launched by BRM are appropriate for those interested into experiencing speed and adrenaline. All timepieces belonging to BRM are hand assembled and constructed with care and attention in order to achieve the required level of perfection specific to the BRM brand of watches.

The case of the new V12-44 watch is made of stainless steel, the most common used material in watch manufacturing, and it has a piston shape. The case is covered with sapphire crystal, both the top and the back, and this commonly used material is scratch and shock resistant, assuring the security of the watch in case of an accidental bumping.

The design is quite sporty and unique in appearance. The new V12-44 is available on three versions, featuring a white, black or bushed dial, depending on each person’s personal taste. A peculiar design property at this new V12-44 watch is given by the Arabic numeral applied on its dial, which are similar to those appearing on racing cars. The design idea of competition and adventure is really nicely captured within this feature and also, the strap imitating the pattern of a tire adds a lovely touch to it.

The mechanism of the new V12-44 watch is a 7753 movement, whose components are all hand-assembled and hand-refined. This movement generates a 100 meters water resistance and is able to provide the best accuracy and reliability there is. The watch is distributed with a 3 years warranty included and is available in 2 limited editions. The first one numbering only 50 pieces has a cloud pattern applied on its dial along with Red hands, while the other limited edition feature yellow hands, other then that the details remaining unchanged.

A very attractive and functional watch, the new V12-44 represents BRM’s complete dedication to watch making artistry, as its passion is expressed with each new timepiece and with new each design released on the market. The brand’s motto states that in a world full of competition “perfection is the only password”.

The amateurs of watches know it well: whether it is liked or that one does not like, BRM never does anything like everyone. In this spirit one could expect it his swirl “made in France” does not resemble of nothing a swirl “Swiss made”.
First of all, this new part, announced at the time of Basle 2008 (without nothing is still really programmed) was thought, conceptualized and realized in record time. Thus, between the moment when Bernard Richard and Jean-Paul Crabbed (his clock and watch maker) harnessed themselves with the task, and the moment when it was possible to present indeed the first model swirl “made in France”, four small months only had been passed. Once the plans and the design finished, “for two months, our workmen practically did not work that on the parts of this swirl” Bernard Richard underlines, which naturally reduced the daily clock making production of the manufacture which markets 2.000 parts per annum.

The four months which was necessary to the realization of this part are all the more astonishing as BRM did not choose the way of the facility. Indeed, Bernard Richard and Jean-Paul Crabbed left side the traditional metals used in the manufacture of the swirls to choose matters high-tech generally more difficult to work. One chooses materials which enable us to be different. If not, one would have carried out a brass swirl like everyone. For us, more it is difficult to machine, more one is content. One must be masons! The owner of the young manufacture with his guile notices usual.
In fact, this Swirl BRM is carried out of titanium and recap. The titanium of rank 5N is used mainly for the case, built in a modular way like the majority of the BRM.

The glasses and the bottom of limp will be available in version brushed or polished according to preferences’ of the purchaser. To also note that the cage of the swirl (18 mm) is it also manufactured out of titanium. “A first for a wrist watch” specifies the mark in its official statement. As for the recap, an extremely resistant material and antimagnetic employee in the heads of satellite, it was used for the realization of part of the movement.

Side look, taking into account its rather imposing size (52 mm), BRM equipped its swirl with a crown off-set at 2 a.m. not to wound the wrist with carrying. The needles of the hours and the minutes are perforated (traditional at BRM) and are available in yellow or red. The runners of the rotor and the microphone-springs are same color as the needles.

Side movement, this swirl is an automatic model. “What is very rare in the watches with swirl” Jean-Paul Crabbed at the time of the presentation underlined. Another characteristic of this swirl “made in France”, (and it is a first), the mass of automatism was assembled as on model BRM Birotor, i.e. on a bearing with double line of ceramic balls, therefore without lubricant.

It will be also noticed that BRM conceived its movement of such kind that the central second hand turns more quickly than the cage of the swirl. In effect, two quite distinct speeds are posted: with 105 seconds for a turn of cage whereas the second hand achieves to it his, naturally, in one minute (see it video below).

To also note that the cage of swirl was reversed so as to leave visible the exhaust. It is thus possible to distinguish the oscillations from the full beam for purpose gyroscopic exclusive BRM, but also, convolutions of the wheel of exhaust.
The price for BRM Tourbillon Tr1 is around 109,000 Euros.
