2009 was a great year for Cimier, not only because of the release of 5 of their most exquisite timepieces, but also because of the inauguration of their first store in Zurich. The festivity was highly promoted and attended by many celebrities and watch enthusiasts worldwide. At the opening reception, the CEO of Cimier, Mr. Martin Bartsch, held a speech in which he emphasized on the idea of quality and genuine artistry in this sector of watch manufacturing and that brands all over the world should always maintain the highest standards of technical performance, while always aiming at breaking them for setting higher and higher ones. This idea of evolution stands at the core of the Cimier brand and with every new timepiece released on the market, we can see that this brand has remained true to its values.

        Amongst the five timepiece-releases of the year 2009, Cimier presented its new Cimier Nuit et Jour Watch, a piece that although maintains some of the exterior features of the other watches of the Collection Novelties 2009, it presents a different perspective in terms of technical performance. This watch can provide a complete revolution in only half a day, function displayed on the dial by its hour hand.

        The case of the new Cimier Nuit et Jour Watch measures 43 mm in diameter and just as the other watches from this Collection, the case is made of brushed and polished steel. As a distinctive feature, the crown is positioned at 4 o’clock, being diametrically opposed with the small seconds sub-dial presented on the dial.

        Cimier Nuit et Jour Watch presents an simple, yet classy design available wither on black or on white. To justify its name, the designers have chosen some theme detailing present in the sun present at 12 o’clock and the moon, present at 6 o’clock. The dial also displays the main functions of telling the time and uses Roman numerals for the two most important positions, symbolizing the noon and the midnight, while for the rest the designers have chosen to use simple hour markers.

        The movement activating the new Cimier Nuit et Jour Watch has been carefully designed and assembled as to provide the best reliability in terms of time keeping. The name of the movement is ETA/Unitas 6497-1 calibre, a movement that can be admired through the case back of the watch covered with sapphire crystal. This highly sophisticated mechanism provides a water resistance of 5 ATM, making it suitable for diving.

        The strap of the new Cimier Nuit et Jour Watch has been chosen as to match the classy design of the watch, being made of black alligator leather and without having any extravagant features. All straps were hand- sewn with black thread and fitted with a folding clasp made of polished steel.
