Freak Blue Phantom of Ulysses Nardin is one complement with the collection Freak. It represents the technique and clock making art, a delicate symphony of blue and white gold 18 carats.

      The static components of the movement were treated by ionic bombardment of a blue titanium alloy. The bridges and platinum’s concerned were modified consequently. A bottom sapphire offers an unspeakable view on this splendid movement. The point of the marker of the hours and the minutes are super highlighted and improves the visibility of the indication of the hours.

      The provision of the components is made in a not very orthodox way because this part does not have to tell the truth a genuine case; the ice and the glasses form integral part of the movement. Freak has neither crown, nor needles, the movement swiveling entirely on itself to indicate the hour. With fewer components than a simple mechanical movement, Freak does not remain about it less one true Carrousel Swirl.

      The use of silicon proved to be essential for the realization of such a part and it is neither on a purely decorative basis, nor as differentiation. Indeed, during the development of our new exhaust, our engineers explored all the new ways offered by the nanotechnologies. They noticed at once that, by its lightness, its precision, and the freedom of design which it offers, the solution “Silicon” fulfilled in an optimal way the requirements of our new exhaust.

      The exhaust “Dual Ulysses” is the vital part of the movement of the watch and is built out of silicon. The exhaust with double Ulysses impulses comprises two wheels which make it possible to benefit from the natural forces of transmission, since force and movement work in the same direction alternatively clockwise with the first wheel and anti-clockwise with the second.

      The wheels in question comprise 18 active teeth, thus guaranteeing a good transmission of energy to the beam-spiral couple. No lubrication is necessary. The transmission takes place thanks to a mechanism of the gears type.

      The impulse is given to an alternator which transmits it to the axis of beam. The alternator is gears which turn in a direction, then alternatively in the other.

      The innovative principle of the exhaust with double Ulysses impulses allows an important reduction of the angle of lifting – usually 50°-52° (Swiss lever escapement) brought back to approximately 30°. The angle of lifting corresponds to the arc described by the beam between its first and last contact with the exhaust. The smaller the arc is short, is the disturbance of the natural oscillation of the beam.
Movement: mechanics with manual reassembly by the bottom of the case, gauges UN-202, 13, exhaust “Dual silicon Ulysses”, 28 rubies, holds of walk 7 days, 28′ 800 A/h (4 Hz). Functions like carrousel-swirl; indication of the hours and the minutes makes the watch a beautiful masterpiece.

      The case of the watch is made from white gold 18ct, 44,5mm of diameter, revolving glasses with clasp for adjustment of the hour, freeze treated sapphire anti-reflecting, bottom of the case sapphire. Bracelet is made from alligator skin on deploying loop, with some shape on it.
