The year 2008 came with a bunch of surprises for the world of watch manufacturing, as some of the most famous brands of watches competed with each other in creating unique timepieces that were to become the must-haves of the year 2008. As nowadays brands tend to become more and more competitive and exclusivist, Glashutte Original has seen the need to create extraordinary timepieces that should impress the audiences not only through their neat designs, but also through their powerful mechanisms.

In this respect, Glashutte Original launched in 2008 a collection dedicated to the most active of us, to those who are into sports and outdoors activities. The collection goes by the name of Sport Evolution Impact line and it presents two of the most successful timepieces by Glashutte Original: the Sport Evolution Impact Chronograph and the Sport Evolution Impact Tourbillon. Both watches are highly reliable and were designed to resist even in the most peculiar extreme situations. What guarantees this indisputable reliability is the shock-absorption system incorporated in these two timepieces, which uses as main material elastomer. Whenever faced with a critical situation, these models can absorb up to 60% of the shock, guaranteeing to maintain the same level of accuracy and functionality.

To expand a little bit the concept of this successful sporty collection, the designers from Glashutte Original have decided to include in it the new Glashutte Original Sport Evolution Impact Panorama Date, a watch that takes even further the idea of sports and functionality. The new Sport Evolution Impact Panorama Date is quite impressive in appearance, its design being focused on red and black as main colors.

The case is made of stainless steel, but the designers have chosen to use a black rubber coating to provide the watch with a sportier look. The case measures 46 mm in diameter and is covered in sapphire crystal. The dial of this new Glashutte Original Sport Evolution Impact Panorama Date presents an element of novelty, a function which was even patented by Glashutte Original- the oversized panorama date window located at the 6 o’clock position. Along with this date window, the dial is also equipped with silvered hour markers of perfect legibility, even during the night, due to the superluminova treatment applied on the hour markers. The luminescent coating is added on the hours and minutes indicators as well.

Just as previously mentioned, the top of the case is covered with sapphire crystal and so is the back case, allowing the most curious of us to admire the complicated movement. The new Glashutte Original Sport Evolution Impact Panorama Date is equipped with an automatic Calibre 39-47, offering the watch a power reserve of 40 hours.

The Glashutte Original Sport Evolution Impact Panorama Date watch is available either on a black rubber strap or on a Trieste strap, both versions maintaining that sporty intended look. The price of this piece ranges from $13,000.
