Established back in 1860, the IWC brand shares the values and true quality of the Swiss watch manufacturing techniques and is famous for its in-house movements which have proven to be more than inspired. The designers from IWC have given birth to many collections of watches, each approaching a different vision and meant to revolutionize the world of watch making. Amongst these collections we can mention the IWC Vintage Collection, the Grande Complication Collection, the Portuguese Collection, the Da Vinci Collection, the Aquatimer Collection, the Ingenieur Collection, the Pilot’s Watches Classics Collection, the Pilot’s Watches Spitfire Collection and the Portofino Collection.
Apparently, the most successful ones were those dedicated to pilots and aviators, with the introduction of the first timepiece of such type back in the 1930s. Ever since then, the IWC Pilot’s Watch Model has been improved, redesigned and equipped with more and more complicated functions to become the today’s IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Automatic.
Based on the traditional chronograph function, the new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Automatic features an elegant design given by the choice of the materials used. The case, which measures a considerable proportion of 42 mm in diameter, is crafted from 18 K pink gold or from stainless steel. The case is also equipped with the patented system of protection against magnetic fields designed by IWC, consisting in a inner case made of iron and it features a crown and two lateral pushers to adjust the functions of the chronograph.
The IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Automatic Watch displays a classic look with its chronograph sub-dials placed at 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions and its date and day function displayed traditionally at 3 o’clock. The black dial uses white detailing to make a beautiful contrast and luminescent hour markers and Arabic numerals.
The technical movement is an automatic self-winding mechanical movement defined as the Caliber 79320, a caliber developed by the house of IWC to fit the needs of its customers. This movement assures 44 hours of power reserve, along with 60 meters water resistance.
The strap of this watch is available on two versions, one of black leather matching the stainless steel case, while the other matching the rose gold model is on dark brown. The new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph Automatic Watch is a sophisticated timepiece made for sophisticated people, who only settle for the best of products.
