Posted under IWC

When we talk about Portofino range we talk about finesse, elegance and sobriety and this is what we find and at this charming Portofino Dual Time Automatic GMT watch. For more than a quarter of a century, the Portofino range has been the unassuming star of the IWC collections, an expression of understatement and good taste. The Portofino has not undergone major changes over the years, and today the lovers of this watch family can enjoy this new released timepiece which, as I mentioned earlier, keeps the same elegant lines and perfect proportions that characterizes this range.

As befitting a watch of its class, it features an elegant, Portofino-style case crafted in solid red gold with indices and numerals likewise made of solid gold and exposed by the black dial, or in simple stainless steel with either a black or a silver-plated dial and measures an impressive 45mm in diameter. The case is dressed in sapphire crystal with antireflective coating on both sides which sets off the lightness and elegance of the watch to perfection.  The time is shown infallibly by the automatic 64710 Calibre movement housed in case, which is manufactured exclusively in the IWC workshops. Precision setting of the highly-accurate movement is achieved via an operating system which oscillates at a rate of 28,800 beats per hour, ensuring a power reserve of 72 hours when the watch is fully wound. The exquisitely finished movement can be viewed through the sapphire crystal back of the case.

Furthermore, this fine IWC Portofino Dual Time Automatic GMT Watch employs a very legible black dial which accommodates central minute and hour-hands in a wonderful leaf shape, a 24-hour GMT indicator discreetly positioned in the upper half of the dial featuring a red hand which completes a full revolution once a day, a seconds-indicator located in the lower half of the dial and a date window placed at 3 o’clock, all features being a feast for the eyes of the brand enthusiasts, along with the hour-markers, indexes and Roman numerals that the dial also exposes. These ingenious functions are adjustable by a winding crown placed on the 3 o’clock side of the case.

With these splendid characteristics, the new IWC Portofino Dual Time Automatic GMT Watch is indeed a never-ending source of pleasure for the beauty lovers.

To complete the timepiece, this one can be adjust to the wrist with the exceptional alligator leather straps made by Santorini, an Italian manufacturer of luxury shoes. The straps in black or dark-brown, colored by hand, highlight the typical Italian lightness characteristic of Portofino. A discreet buckle in 18-carat red gold or optionally, a thin folding clasp comes to complete the elegance of the IWC watch.
