Posted under Longines

1832 is a year with resonance for the watch making artistry as the famous Longines brand of watches was established then by Auguste Agassiz, a visionary founder who managed to build from a small business an empire of watch manufacturing. The motto of the brand “serving precision, elegance and sports since 1832” was never broken as the brand has always brought its contribution with its amazing timepieces equipped with genuine Swiss made movements and displaying the most exquisite design features.

Given the international prestige of this brand it’s not surprise that famous starts all over the world (from the States through Asia) have chosen to become the proud ambassadors of Longines, expressing the same value as the brand, “elegance is an attitude”. Some of the Longines ambassadors are: Stefanie Graf, Andre Agassi, Oleg Menshikov, Denise Keller and Peter Lohmeyer. Elegance starts not only with sophisticated designs, but most of all, it starts with the idea of quality and genuine value, and the watches introduced by Longines are proof that these are the brand’s top core values.

The new watch presented by Longines was designed by the famous aviator Lindbergh for Longines and it bears his name. The watch goes by the name of Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch and was created as a tribute to the first ocean crossing trip by plane, performed by Lindbergh.

Just as Lindbergh’s flight across the Atlantic became legend so did this timepiece remained as a landmark timepiece for the Longines brand.

The case of the watch is made of stainless steel and measures 47 mm in diameter. Large enough, this case provides space enough for the dial’s indications as to provide a spacious and simple appearance.

The dial of the new Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch provides many functions and it’s a very reliable timekeeping instrument. The dial displays the traditional functions of telling the time, a longitude scale, and is adorned with Roman numerals to indicate the hours. The indications are painted in black and blue on a white dial, giving the impression of watching on a map.

The technical movement is produced exclusively by Longines and goes by the name of Longines L699, ETA A07 111 movement, providing 42 hours of power resistance. Although with a safely secured case back, this watch is not appropriate for diving or other water activities, as it has a minimum water resistance.

The new Longines Lindbergh Hour Angle Watch comes on an alligator strap, chosen as to match the center beige sub-dial of the watch. The strap is and sewn with white stitches to recreate that old, vintage design concept intended by the Longines’ designers.
