Louis Moinet Tempograph

Posted under Louis Moinet

Louis Moinet, born in 1768, was without doubt, one of the greatest watchmakers of all times. The main rule of conducting his business was based on the fact that each watch should be unique and special in its own way, each expressing a different story, and that is why, all Louis Moinet watches are parts of limited editions. In consequence the annual production goes around 1,000 timepieces.

The mechanical art of Louis Moinet follows four important values defining for the brand: “a unique spirit of creation” granted by the limited editions, “design” defined by luxury, style and passion for details, “watchmaking”, all watches being handmade in order to satisfy the sophisticated and exigent clientèle, and fourth but not last, “exclusivity”, that gives the client the great opportunity of knowing if the watch is manufactured in limited edition, case in which a star is engraved on the watch, or if it is one-of-a-kind, the star being replaced by a moon.

Over the years, a great number of famous personalities have chosen to wear Louis Moinet watches, like: King George IV of England, Napoleon, Thomas Jefferson or James Monroe.

As Louis Moinet used to say: “A true artist cannot remain behind his time” and even if the fondateur of the Moinet House lived from 1768 to 1853, the luxurious brand keeps on following this concept, always shocking the clientèle by adding even more taste with every model.

Tempograph embodies beauty, style, complexity, all in a work of art that`s not only a mechanism meant to measure time, but also a visual delight, a defining symbol of elegance. A unique timepiece that manages to make the difference throughout the retrograde seconds mechanism, which is constantly on the move.

Another amazing detail is the cam mechanism that has been left visible so as to enable the wearer to admire it in action. The entirely matt-polished by hand cam is composed of six teeth, performs one rotation per minute and releases a titanium lever which displays a ten-second measurement by means of a blued steel hand.

The buckel is made of steel 316L or 18K rose gold folding clasp with Louis Moinet symbol and the bracelet is made of Louisiana alligator leather, hand-sewn. Prices may vary: $28,000 if made of steel, Titanium and PVD, $36,000 in case it is made of Rose Gold, Titanium and Steel and the most expensive one, made of Rose Gold and Yellow Gold reaches a price of 59,000$.
