MB&F is an artistic conceptual laboratory and micromechanics which rests on a simple idea: to join together each year of the evolutionary clock making collectives composed of independent professionals in order to conceive and carry out radical Horological Machines.
The ramifications of these daring initiatives are multiple. By respecting the tradition without being blocked by it, MB&F acts like a catalyst by the alliance of the traditional values of the high clock industry with an advanced technology and a dimensional kinetic sculpture of avant-garde.
The first chronometer of MB&F, Horological No.1 Machine, wrote the inaugural chapter of the history of a revolution. Today, Horological Machine No.2 continues this adventure. Welcome with Horology 2.0!
Horological Machine No.2 (HM2) is conceived and carried out in a holistic way like an instrument to measure time in three dimensions for the wrist. The functions and the indications were imagined in order to agree to specializations of Jean-Marc Wiederrecht (Agenhor), the creative clock and watch maker of the HM2. The specific architecture of this highly technical movement was developed at the same time to adapt to the radical shape of the modular case and to supplement it.

HM2 is the first mechanical movement in the world to offer one hour jumping instantaneous, of the retrograde concentric minutes, a retrograde date, a moon phase with two hemispheres and an automatic reassembly. With a total number of parts superior to 450 for the case and the movement, the HM2 is a machine of an attractive complexity. Its technical refinement is combined however with the requirements of a simple and reliable functionality.
The movement has a mechanism of jumping hour/retrogresses particularly powerful, developed by Jean-Marc Wiederrecht. Wheels with asymmetrical teeth exclusive and patented by J. – M. Wiederrecht are the guarantors of a high precision and an irreproachable operation.

The manufacture of the form complexes case of the HM2 – with its architectural volume, of daring propping up, the bolted port-holes and a sliding safety device for the crown – was only possible by the use of an innovative modular approach: a method inspired by the assemblies of Meccano resulting from the childhood of Maximilian Büsser. Horological Machine No.2 is impressed of a dynamic tension between apparently antagonistic elements.

There is a tension between an advanced technology and the art of the sculpture, between alloys high-tech and noble metals, between the traditional clock industry and micromechanical technologies of XXI century. This vibrating tension is amplified by the interaction of the light and the color on the various completions, textures and forms in order to confer on the machine its seizing promptness.

The perfection is dissimulated in the least detail and the form adapts to the function. These two well anchored convictions explain why MB&F did not hesitate to redraw the slits of the screws of the case to equip them with the unusual shape in clover sheet. Indeed, of the screws with arises require screwdrivers with the edges also sharp-edged, likely to stripe the polished gold screws. The round reason for the heads of screw of the HM2 is not only pleasant with the glance; it also reduces the risks of damage. Authentic micromechanical works of art, Horological Machines require that each component have an irreproachable appearance and an operation.
