TAG-Heuer brought echoes of innovation with the introduction of the Monaco Twenty Four Concept Chronograph, released on the market last year. A timepiece of extreme functionality and with a more than interesting design, the new watch is inspired by the exterior appearance of the racing cars Le Mans. A tribute to excellence and competition, the new watch shows once more TAG-Heuer’s commitment and dedication to achieving the highest standards of Haute Horology, and why not, set new ones.
This timepiece came to mark the 40th Anniversary of an event where Steve McQueen wore on his wrist a TAG-Heuer Monaco model, making of the Monaco line a special collection dedicated to sports and racing, to speed and competition.
With an impressive black design, the new TAG-Heuer Monaco Twenty Four Concept Chronograph watch maintains the tradition by presenting sporty design features that mesmerized the passionate fans immediately. The case measures 40.5 mm in diameter, having just the appropriate size to assure the best flexibility to the wrist of its owner, and it is crafted from PVD coated stainless steel. Being rectangular, the case is also equipped on its left lateral side with a crown and two lateral pushers for the setting of the chronograph. The black design of the case is disturbed in a good way by the colors employed in the dial, two parallel lines on blue and orange that hint to the timepiece worn by Steve McQueen in the famous movie depicting a racing competition.
The dial of the new TAG- Heuer Monaco Twenty Four Concept Chronograph watch seems to approach futuristic lines of design, although being extremely simple to read. The dial is black to match the PVD coated design of the case and it uses as a touch of color, two parallel lines on blue and orange. The watch presents traditional functions of hours, minutes and seconds and two counters that express the functions of the chronograph, one located at 3 o’clock and the other at 9 o’clock. The only over-sized Arabic numeral encountered on the dial is located at 12 o’clock, just above the name of the Monaco collection and its logo.
The mechanism of the TAG-Heuer Monaco Twenty Four Concept Chronograph watch bases its functionality on the TAG Heuer Calibre 36 movement, a movement which is sure to provide the owner of this watch with utmost efficiency. The case construction of this watch also presupposes a shock-absorption system capable of assuring the proper functionality of a watch even after a fall of 20 meters. Also, the movement has been designed by the people from TAG-Heuer to have a centrifugal system, so that the speed won’t affect the proper functionality of the watch.
Being 100 m water resistant, the new TAG-Heuer Monaco Twenty Four Concept Chronograph watch comes accompanied by a black leather strap hand-sewn with orange thread to match the orange line from the dial and to bring out the sporty look of this watch.
