The Swiss watchmaking company Oris, has unveiled a new limited number watch, Oris 4e RHFS Limited Edition, which takes the inspiration from the French Special Forces regiment – the 4th Special Forces Helicopter Regiment. The new timepiece is built with strict technical characteristics specific to a pilot’s watch and is based on the Oris BC4 collection, but has its distinctive and attractive features.
Tested by the members of the regiment, the 4e RHFS Limited Edition Watch has resisted to extreme conditions. It adopts a strong 42, 70 mm case made from stainless steel and covered with PVD gunmetal gray which helps creating a perfect camouflage during the troops’ missions. The multipiece case accommodates a stainless steel Quick Lock Crown at 3 o’clock and push-pieces with PVD gun metal coating. Besides, the case is designed to be water-resistant to 100 meters and it’s protected by a domed sapphire crystal on both faces with anti-reflective treatment inside and outside.
This pilot’s 4e RHFS timepiece displays central hour and minutes nickel hands and small seconds chronograph hand with the colors of the French national flag at the end – blue, white and red, representing a nod to the nation of the members of the regiment for whom this model was built – ,white Arabic numerals and hour-markers, as well as hour, minutes and seconds sub-dials. The hour-markers and indexes, together with the numerals and hands ensure a perfect visibility at night thanks to the white SuperLuminova coating.
In addition, the appealing black dial housed in the case features the logo of the regiment behind the small seconds sub-dial, represented in grey, while the same official logo is inscribed on the case-back. Besides the basic functions, the dial is equipped with 12-hour counter placed at 6 o’clock which has integrated a date window, a small seconds-indicator at 9 o’clock and 30-minute counter at the upper half of the dial.
Inside the new Oris 4e RHFS Limited Edition Watch operates the Swiss-made ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic movement which animates the model beating at a frequency of 28, 800 vibrations per hour and offering 42 hours power-reserve. This amazing mechanism is ultra-accurate and reliable and is studded with 25 jewels.
To complete the timepiece, Oris 4e RHFS is available with a classic black leather strap with white stitching and equipped with a gun metal grey PVD coated folding safety clasp that offers an easy fitting of the strap. The model will be provided with a certificate, but the amount of pieces of this limited edition Oris 4e RHFS is not indicated by the company. However the price for this new watch signed Oris is expected to be between the $3,000 and $4,000.
