One of Paul Picot’s most appreciated collections of watches is that of Gentleman, a collection featuring classy timepieces designed to meet the expectations of the modern man. Always keeping pace with the trends and fashion’s requirements, this is a brand that at the same time doesn’t neglect its basic core values that put great emphasis on quality, classy design lines and impressive technical architecture when it comes to its mechanisms.
The Gentleman Collection by Paul Picot has now been extended with the introduction of the new Gentleman Arc-en-ciel watch, a watch that although having enjoyed international notoriety it still maintains its French roots, just as its name suggests, arc-en-ciel. The name of the watch, which in French means rainbow, signifies vision and variety of thought. The watch manufacturing tradition of today would be inexistent without its most famous watch makers that have had vision and talent, and have changed and improved little by little the watch making standards regarding technical performance and design. Just as the rainbow is not something you see every day, just the same happens with an idea or a vision that occur when least expected and exalt your spirit and mind.
The new Paul Picot Gentleman Arc-en-ciel watch is not extravagant, following a trend that most designers have embraced in 2009, but classy and neat. What is really impressive about this watch is its tendency to a vintage look, with its slim case surrounded by the polished stainless steel bezel and its uncomplicated dial.
The stainless steel case is round and has an appropriate size as to fit perfectly the wrist of a gentleman. Although discreet, this watch does have some masculine design lines, being available in more than one version. A version features a white dial, adorned with blue hour markers, while the other model, features a black dial equipped with white hour markers to provide that intensifying contrast.
The dial of the Paul Picot Gentleman Arc-en-ciel watch has no entangled elements as to be hard to read; it provides just an Arabic numeral at 12 o’clock, hour markers that indicate the hour and a date window at 6 o’clock. Between 1 and 2 o’clock the designers have chosen to insert the name of the collection Gentleman and another symmetrical arch is located between 10 and 11 o’clock position, bearing the day indication and also a different background color for every day of the week, just as the colors of a rainbow.
The traditional functions of the watch are completed by the day and date functions, all available due to the highly reliable self-winding movement which also provides 50 meters of water resistance.
Depending on the model, the new Paul Picot Gentleman Arc-en-ciel watch is accompanied by an alligator leather strap, usually black for the black dial version, and light brown for the silvery-white dial version. The straps are fitted with stainless steel buckle, assuring its owner of the appropriate safety of its watch.
