Conceived 28 years ago, the Seiko Spring Drive concept was designed having the entire mechanical watches technology as a basic foundation, it can provide the temporal accuracy equivalent to +/- 1 second per day due to its mainspring which uses a time regulation revolutionary system and due to its glide motion hands which make it very silent. The mainspring of this model is manufactured from a high-elasticity material: Spron 510TM and is capable to provide more power and moreover the watch has a 72 h power reserve.  The mainspring receives high-efficiency power transmission, provided by a “Magic Lever” system directly fitted to the rotor’s shaft.  In the tri-syncro Regulator, the traditional watch’s escapement mechanism is replaced and the Regulator receives the function of regulating 3 types of energy- electromagnetic energy, mechanical and electrical energy.      The escapement found in traditional watches (the balance wheal that completes its function of regulating the spring’s driving speed of the hands, by back-forth motion) was removed from Spring Drive’s mechanism. Spring Drive’s motion becomes thus unidirectional and thereby the accuracy is increased due the virtually eliminated friction.
